Neck and back pain are some of the most common—and disruptive—musculoskeletal issues. At Orlando Sports Medicine, we address the root causes of spinal pain, whether it’s related to posture, a disc issue, or nerve involvement like sciatica.
Treatment begins with a detailed evaluation to identify mechanical restrictions or muscle imbalances. We use manual therapy techniques to relieve tension and improve mobility, along with neuromuscular re-education and core stabilization to restore functional movement. Modalities like TENS, Interferential current, head or cold therapy may also be used to reduce pain and muscle guarding while patients return to daily activities and exercise.
As pain symptoms improve a progressive spinal stabilization program will be a part of each patient’s progression. This program will build strength, endurance and resiliency in the spine and surrounding muscles. Patients will learn to push, pull, lift and carry in a proper manner, improving their overall function and reducing the likelihood of reinjury.
