Isokinetic Testing

At Orlando Sports Medicine, we use isokinetic testing to assess muscle performance with precision. This tool measures peak torque, endurance, and limb symmetry, providing valuable data for athletes and post-operative patients.

Isokinetic testing is especially useful after ACL surgery, rotator cuff repair, or hamstring injury. It helps our therapists evaluate recovery progress and make evidence-based decisions about when it’s safe to advance rehabilitation or return to sport. Test results also help us individualize treatment to restore full strength and reduce re-injury risk.

Specific to the knee, we have performed thousands of Isokinetic tests and at any given time have dozens of patients who rely on the results of these tests to reinforce their progress as they recover from major injuries or surgeries.

Isokinetic testing is often helpful when you or your medical team are unsure about why you are not back to normal or having trouble progressing.  Following an Isokinetic tes,t our team of therapists can guide you through a specific recovery plan based on the results of this test.
